Feature Friday – J’Adorn Designs

Meet Alison Jefferies, owner and designer of J’Adorn Designs!

I have been SO excited for this post ALL week!  This past weekend I got to FINALLY meet an amazing lady who I have heard about and known of for a very long time.  Kate (Feature on her coming up soon!) has known Alison since she was little and so seeing as I live with Kate, I often have heard her talk about how awesome she is.  Last fall she got married to her darling husband Dustin and naturally I used this as the perfect time to friend request her.  And lets be honest, I mostly did this because I wanted to be able to stalk her wedding photos!  What can I say, I love weddings!  Over the last year, I have chatted with her on facebook, stalked her photos and gotten to know her a bit.  This girl not only is awesome, has killer taste and is affectionately known as Piggers, but she makes BEAUTIFUL jewelry!!!  And when I say beautiful, I mean beautiful.  Her husband is the sweetest guy, helping her hang sparkly banners, make drinks and clean the house.  It really is true, the best business are run by teams of people, especially the married ones!  So this weekend Kate and I made the trip to Baltimore to go to her house party in celebration of some pretty big news for her business….She is starting a custom wedding side to her business!!!!  Her party was fabulous, the jewels sparkley, the winter sangria amazing!  Of course my camera came with me and I took a few (or few hundred) photos of her creations that I am excited to share with you!  I find it such ajoy to be able to know people who have business I love, who make products I wanna buy and who are not just fabulous business owners, but people as well.  If you are one of my brides, clients, or friends and are looking to give the gift of custom jewelry, check this girl out.  And she is not one of those “I’ll make you something custom but you’ll be paying an insane custom price for it” kinda girl either, everything she does is reasonable and beautiful!

Here are some of my favorite “party” shots and links to how to learn more and get your hands on some of these pretties!!!

The Simmer Family Part 3!

It sadly has taken me a little longer to post this last installment as I have been rather busy!  So its a day later than I had hoped but I believe its worth the extra time for the last of the beautiful family!  Sometimes I find that blog post that are done in “parts” are frustrating, both to read and post, as I usually just want things to be done or I just wanna see it all already!  I am by nature not the most patient person so when things are not done, I get frustrated and often find myself not enjoying what I love, the editing part of the photography process.  This time, especially with this family, I wanted to do it right, I wanted to take the time to edit each photo and not rush through things.  And this isn’t to say I rush with any of my clients, but there are times where I just am editing, not savoring the process, where the imagination is not there and I fail to recognize the beauty of every person I work with.

Simmer Family, you touched my heart this holiday season and amidst a very tough time for your family.  I hope that you are able to look at your images with bittersweet joy, you love them and that you know how blessed I feel for being able to have you each for clients!
